Call for Paper (IAKBS Vol. III)

We are writing to invite you to contribute to IAKBS Volume III, currently being prepared for (potential) publication in the GPBS series with Walter de Gruyter.

The volume is titled Reconfiguring Victims and Perpetrators: Violence and Memory in Biblical Traditions. We aim to bring biblical studies into conversation with questions around how victimhood is narrated, mobilized, and repositioned in relation to violence, nationalism, and socio-political memory. We are especially keen on papers that combine close interpretation of a specific biblical text (or corpus) with critical analysis of victim–perpetrator dynamics and their narrative reconfiguration in broader social and political contexts.

If this sounds like a good fit for your work, we would be delighted to consider a proposal from you. The timeline is as follows:

  • Title and abstract (4–5 sentences): due March 29, 2026
  • Full paper: due December 30, 2026

Proposals can be sent directly to JiSeong James Kwon. For general inquiries or to discuss a tentative idea before submitting an abstract, please feel free to contact him at camelkne@gmail.com.
