Annual Membership Fee
The annual membership fee for IAKBS is a minimum of 30,000 KRW, to be transferred to the following account:

The membership year runs from January to December.
For members residing abroad who do not have access to a Korean bank account, please contact our treasurer, Mi-Hye Jeong (mayim@hanmail.net), for alternative arrangements.
IAKBS will soon be officially registered as a non-profit organization and will be further reorganized as a professional academic society. Membership fees will be used solely for essential purposes such as website development and maintenance, conferences, and society activities.
We deeply appreciate your kind understanding and active support. Additional matters currently under discussion will be organized and announced via email in due course.
Notice on Revisions to IAKBS Membership and Annual Membership Fee Policy
In order to promote more stable and consistent administration of the Association, IAKBS would like to revise certain policies regarding membership and annual membership fees and to clarify the membership application process as outlined below.
1. Revision of the Annual Membership Fee Payment Period
The current annual membership fee system of IAKBS is still in a transitional stage. In particular, since some members have recently paid their annual membership fees, requesting another payment this coming July may place an unnecessary burden on them.
Accordingly, beginning next year, the annual membership fee period will be adjusted to run from January through December of each calendar year. The current year will serve as a transition period, and beginning in January 2027, the new annual membership fee schedule will be applied uniformly to all members.
However, members who have not yet paid their annual membership fees from July 2025 to the present are kindly requested to do so at their earliest convenience. Detailed information regarding membership fee payment can be found in the annual membership fee information section above.
2. Clarification of Membership Procedures and Criteria for Official Membership
Along with the revision of the annual membership fee policy, we would also like to establish a clearer membership application process. In particular, beginning in June 2026, official membership status will be granted only after annual membership fee payment has been completed. While many members faithfully pay their annual membership fees and actively participate in the Association, there have also been cases in which little or no participation or membership fee payment has occurred after membership registration. As a result, the need for operational improvements has been identified.
Accordingly, beginning in June 2026, membership applications will be processed as follows:
First: Submission of a Membership Application
Individuals wishing to join IAKBS should first complete and submit a membership application form. Information regarding the application form and submission procedures is provided above on this page.
Second: Review and Approval by the Executive Committee
Submitted membership applications will be reviewed by the Executive Committee. After reviewing the application, the Executive Committee will determine whether membership approval should be granted.
Third: Confirmation of Annual Membership Fee Payment
Once membership approval has been granted by the Executive Committee, the applicant will be asked to pay the annual membership fee. Upon confirmation of payment, the application will proceed to the final stage.
Fourth: Completion of Official Membership Registration
An applicant will be registered as an official member of IAKBS only after all of the following requirements have been fulfilled:
- Submission of a membership application
- Approval by the Executive Committee
- Confirmation of annual membership fee payment
We believe that this process will help clarify the standards for membership, support the responsible administration of IAKBS, and establish a sustainable framework for active participation in the Association.

IAKBS 회원가입 및 연회비 운영 기준 조정 안내
IAKBS 회원가입 및 연회비 운영과 관련하여, 보다 안정적이고 일관된 학회 운영을 위해 아래와 같이 일부 기준을 조정하고 회원가입 절차를 보완하고자 합니다.
1. 연회비 납부 기간 기준 변경
현재 IAKBS의 연회비 제도는 아직 과도기적 단계에 있습니다. 특히 최근에 회비를 납부하신 회원들이 계신 상황에서, 올해 7월에 다시 회비 납부를 요청드리는 것은 다소 부담이 있을 수 있습니다.
이에 따라 내년부터는 연회비 납부 기간을 매년 1월부터 12월까지로 전환하고자 합니다. 올해는 전환 기간으로 두고, 2027년 1월부터 모든 회원에게 동일하게 새로운 연회비 기준을 적용하고자 합니다.
다만, 2025년 7월부터 현재까지 아직 연회비를 납부하지 않으신 회원들께서는 최대한 빠른 시일 내에 연회비를 납부해 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 연회비 납부와 관련된 자세한 정보는 위의 연회비 안내에서 확인하실 수 있습니다.
2. 회원가입 절차 보완 및 정식 회원 등록 기준 명확화
연회비 기준 조정과 함께, 회원가입 절차도 보다 분명하게 정비하고자 합니다. 특히 2026년 6월부터 연회비 납부가 완료되어야 정식 회원 자격이 부여됩니다. 현재 회비를 성실히 납부하시고 적극적으로 참여하시는 회원들이 계신 반면, 가입 이후 실질적인 참여나 회비 납부가 거의 이루어지지 않는 경우도 있어 운영상 개선의 필요성이 제기되어 왔습니다.
이에 따라 2026년 6월부터 회원가입 절차를 다음과 같이 운영하고자 합니다.
첫째, 회원가입 신청서 제출
IAKBS 가입을 희망하시는 분은 먼저 회원가입 신청서를 작성하여 제출합니다. 신청서 양식과 제출 방법은 본 페이지 위에 안내되어 있습니다.
둘째, 운영위원회의 가입 검토 및 확정
제출된 회원가입 신청서는 운영위원회에서 검토합니다. 운영위원회는 신청서를 검토한 후 가입 승인 여부를 결정합니다.
셋째, 연회비 납부 확인
운영위원회에서 가입이 확정된 이후, 신청자는 연회비를 납부합니다. 연회비 납부가 확인되면 다음 단계로 진행합니다.
넷째, 정식 회원가입 완료
가입 신청서 제출, 운영위원회 가입 승인, 연회비 납부 확인이 모두 완료된 경우에만 해당 신청자를 IAKBS 정식 회원으로 등록합니다.
이 절차는 회원 자격의 기준을 보다 분명히 하고, IAKBS의 책임 있는 운영과 지속 가능한 참여 구조를 마련하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대합니다.
